You have to solve a problem that people actually have. But it’s not always a problem that they know they have, so that’s tricky.

Generally, knowledge and understanding of a system provides the user with a feeling of ‘control’. But there is a threshold on the level of complexity when the desire to understand drops dramatically.

Design for the novice. Configure for the pro. The pro will always find the advanced options.

My new computer came with Windows 7. Windows 7 is much more user-friendly than Windows Vista. I don't like that.
