So, no, I will not give up on trying to change the tone of our politics.  I know it's an election year.  And after last week, it's clear that campaign fever has come even earlier than usual.  But we still need to govern. 

We need to teach our kids that it's not just the winner of the Super Bowl who deserves to be celebrated, but the winner of the science fair.

And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country will do for you – ask what you can do for your country.

There are no words that can express how we feel... we don't understand why this happened. We wish we could...change it.

Especially within hours of a tragedy unfolding, journalists and pundits should not manufacture a blood libel that serves only to incite the very hatred and violence they purport to condemn. That is reprehensible.

Myths and legends die hard in America. We love them for the extra dimension they provide, the illusion of near-infinite possibility to erase the narrow confines of most men’s reality. Weird heroes & mould-breaking champions exist as living proof to those who need it that the tyranny of “the rat race” is not yet final.

From time to time there are going to be things that occur that are acts of God that cannot be prevented.

Obviously, we gotta stand with our North Korean allies.
