Everybody talks about wanting to change things and help and fix, but ultimately all you can do is fix yourself. And that's a lot. Because if you can fix yourself, it has a ripple effect.

We marry people because we’re attracted to them emotionally and physically. When a person, male or female, chooses to radically alter his or her physical form, he/she can’t complain when his/her spouse’s feelings for him/her alter radically.
The picture of the loved,
Long we hold in our heart:
Then come home to find,
The two have grown apart:
Which to keep and which to kill:
Should there be a doubt?
But how we clip the dead to us
And throw the living out.
There are stages in our lives when different things seem important. ... You don't stay the same for ever. You're organic after all.
Your mind can keep you chained too.
Be open to change.
Hold truth with open palms, let the winds whisk falsehood away.

In a chronically leaking boat, energy devoted to changing vessels is more productive than energy devoted to patching leaks.
You have to always be ready, always be alive, and always be willing to move in a new direction.
Sometimes it takes a good fall to really know where you stand.
You cannot change your destination overnight, but you can change your direction overnight.
— Jim Rohn
I can't change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination.
Over time, choosing gratitude mean choosing joy. But that choice doesn't come without effort and intentionality. It's a choice that requires constantly renewing my mind with the truth of God's Word, setting my heart to savor God and His gifts, and disciplining my tongue to speak words that reflect his goodness and grace until a grateful spirit becomes my reflex response to all of life.

You meet thousands of people and none of them really touch you. And then you meet one person and your life is changed forever.

...Learning by itself does not lead to progress. We often hide behind information and use learning as an excuse to delay the more difficult and more important choice of actually doing something. Spend less time passively learning and more time actively practicing. Stop thinking and start doing.
