We're just a bunch of dirtbag players and we just go out and play hard and it's not flashy by any means...There's nothing special about our team other than the fact that we play hard and we just grind it out. And maybe that's why people don't like us because we don't have anything special. And when we do do things special, I think it pisses people off. [partialquote]

Baseball has fallen. Yes, the national game has become degraded. At certain match games large amounts of money changed hands among the spectatory. A noted New York club is said to have sold the results of a match. Barred chins and broken fingers may be easily mended, but a disfigured reputation may never be entirely repaired. Once more, abandon the bat, boys, if you cannot keep the game pure.

We've come to the conclusion that just about every manager is an idiot. Some are bigger idiots than others, but basically they're all idiots. There are certain things that all managers do because they've been brainwashed to think a certain way. Most of them played before advanced statistical work became in vogue, and due to that, they manage like a Baseball Tonight analyst. So, it's a question of finding a lesser degree of idiocy.
