Death laughed, a rich and life filled sound that seemed to warm me from my toes to my ears. Who would have thought that Death could be so warm?

“I wasn’t always this evil,” he whispered. “There was a time that I was neutral. Happy in the darkness, never envious of the light. Then I was summoned, and my Queen was killed. I had to take revenge.” He opened his pain filled eyes and smiled at me.
Things squished and made odd sounds as I stepped through the dead. I felt numb, I felt nothing. I saw only the fighting in front of me, and launched forward. Tonight, I would get my pound of flesh.
Get your cow hide over here so I can cut it down to size!
Everything seemed to freeze around me. I could hear her voice, warm and soft like velvet, but as dangerous as a jagged knife. "So, mortal. You challenge me? Regardless of what you-", I felt something invisible caress my belly, "Have to lose? You would risk it's life just to win your precious little castle back?"
Khale turned his head towards me, his eyes hazed over, face contorted in pain. With his last dying breath he whispered to me, "Sorry."
