There’s the idea that badges are what’s driving this activity, and I think that’s an invalid assumption. It’s the social aspect.

It’s been interesting, because I think game mechanics were a great introduction to location-based services. But it’s not the story.

We’ve seen so many companies now come into market and want to check into books, music, etc. I think we’re kind of drinking our own Kool-Aid here. I don’t think that was ever our intention. We wanted to launch the next thing in location-based interactions. I don’t think we need to necessarily check into everything.
