[M]iscarriage is death without ceremony. No funeral, no name. No one would ever tell you, for example, if your mother died, that mother-death is actually quite common, hang in there honey, you’ll find another mother. The angst of miscarriage lingers, maybe even multiplies, because you’re the only one who knew the deceased, and the way you knew them was theoretical, fleeting.
